Penelope (Penny) Adams, Class of 1972
A freelance television producer for numerous television shows including Columbo, Hill Street Blues, ER and RENO 911!, Ms. Adams has also recently been on staff at HBO as a Production Executive for Television Series. She was Unit Production Manager for Cheers, Miami Vice and The White Shadow, among others.
Ms. Adams participates with Centerpoint as a Spiritual Director and as a member of All Saints Episcopal Church, Pasadena. She has served two terms on the Marietta College Theatre Advisory Board, and received the Distinguished Alumna Award in 1997. A theatre major while at Marietta, she was a member of the Alpha Psi Omega Dramatic Honorary as well as a sister of Alpha Xi Delta. She and her husband, James Contner, live in Sherman Oaks, California with their two Lhasa Apsos, Sassy and Rigby.
Anna (Ann) Rathbone Bowser Bailey, Class of 1987
Ms. Nichols co-Chairs the Hartel Fellows Committee and is a member of the Perspectives Committee at Marietta College.
She is also on the YMCA Board of Directors, Junior League of Parkersburg, the Ohio River Valley of Arts and Letters, and Trinity Episcopal Church. She lives in Vienna, W.Va., and has four adult daughters, including Matilda Bailey, Class of 1980.
Mark Bradley
Mark F. Bradley is president, CEO and Director of Peoples Bancorp Inc., (Nasdaq: PEBO) a $1.9 billion financial holding company headquartered in Marietta, Ohio.
A native of Marietta, Bradley earned a bachelor's degree in accounting/business pre-law from Ohio University in 1991 and an MBA from Ohio University in 1998. While an undergraduate, Bradley played four years of varsity baseball and captained the 1991 Ohio University team that won the Mid-American Conference Championship. Bradley is a graduate of the Ohio Banker’s School and serves on a variety of community boards such as the Southeastern Ohio Port Authority.
Bradley and his wife Tammi have two daughters: Emilee and Gabrielle.
His hobbies include golf, exercise, and radio broadcasting for local high school and college sports, including the occasional Etta Express baseball game.

Robert (Bob) Brucken, Class of 1956
Mr. Brucken earned his Juris Doctorate from the University of Michigan in 1959. He is a retired partner of the firm of Baker & Hostetler. He was the first recipient of the Wellman Award from the Joint Editorial Board for Trust and Estates Acts in recognition of his service to it for over the past 35 years. Mr. Brucken is the founding Editor-in-Chief of the Probate Law Journal of Ohio, a commercial journal for Ohio probate practitioners.
Mr. Brucken has negotiated or litigated tax cases presenting novel issues of estate and gift inclusion, asset valuation and tax deduction qualification. He is a fellow of the American College of Trust and Estate Counsel, the national society of probate specialists.
Mr. Brucken has served on MAAP. He is married to Lois Gilbert Brucken '58, and they live in Cleveland, Ohio. They have four adult children, including Nancy '83.

Dr. Christine (Chris) Fry Burns, Class of 1966
Dr. Burns earned her medical degree from Albany Medical College in 1970. She had a Fellowship in Pediatric Ophthalmology at Emory University School of Medicine from 1983-84. She has a pediatric ophthalmology practice in Palm Harbor, Fla., and Hudson, Fla. In 1998 she was presented an Honor Award from the American Association for Pediatric Ophthalmology and Strabismus.
Dr. Burns is an author of numerous articles for professional publications and a presenter at national and international ophthalmology and strabismus conferences. She was in the U.S. Air Force (1976-85) and U.S. Army (1985-97), where she earned a Meritorious Service Achievement Award. She has served on MAAP. Dr. Burns' husband, George, is a 1966 MC graduate. They live in Crystal Beach, Fla., and have an adult son and daughter.

T. Grant Callery, Class of 1968
J.D. from Georgetown University Law Center in 1973.
An Executive Vice President and General Counsel at the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority (FINRA) in Washington, DC, Mr. Callery is an active member of the Business and Securities Law Committees of the American Bar Association.
He and his wife, Jacqueline Machan Callery ('71) reside in Bethesda, Maryland. They have two adult children one of whom, Megan, is a Marietta College graduate of 2003.

Joseph (Joe) Chlapaty
Mr. Chlapaty is a graduate of the University of Dubuque with an M.B.A. from DePaul University in 1976. He is the President and Chief Executive Officer of Advanced Drainage Systems, Inc., in Hilliard, Ohio. Mr. Chlapaty is a Certified Public Accountant, a member of American Institute of CPAs and of Financial Executives Institute.
Mr. Chlapaty serves as Chairman of the Board of Trustees at the University of Dubuque. He and his wife, Linda, live in Dublin, Ohio. They have two sons, including Keith, a 1997 MC graduate and former Pioneer football player.

Frank Christy
Mr. Christy graduated from Northwestern University in 1969, and earned his M.B.A. in 1970. He is the founder and president of Christy & Associates Inc., a company that has developed a number of retail, restaurant, lodging, and other commercial projects in Ohio and West Virginia.
Since 1985, the firm has also been involved in venture funding for several companies, including Rossi Pasta, Caron Products, and Cincinnati Automation. Frank and his wife, Mary Lou, reside in Vero Beach, Fla. They have two adult children, a son and a daughter.

Patricia (Pat) Griffin Curtin, Class of 1969
Ms. Curtin received a J.D. from Boston University School of Law in 1972. She was appointed in 1995 as a District Court Trial Judge for the Commonwealth of Massachusetts and currently serves as the Presiding Justice of the Dedham District Court and presides over the Drug Court in the Cambridge District Court. She serves on the District Court Education Committee which is responsible for continuing education for the judiciary as well as training for new judges. Ms. Curtin also sits on the Appellate Division within the District Court and has been a frequent lecturer to bench and bar.
Prior to her appointment to the bench, Ms. Curtin was a partner in the Boston law firm of Lynch, Brewer, Hoffman and Sands where she handled a broad range of civil and criminal litigation. Before joining the firm, she was a law clerk to the Honorable Frank H. Freedman of the United States District Court for the District of Massachusetts.
At Marietta, Ms. Curtin was Vice President of the Student Body, President of the Women’s Leadership Honorary, a member of the National History Honorary and the Alpha Xi Delta sorority. In 1999 she received the Outstanding Alumna Award. Pat and her husband, John, live in Boston and have two adult sons.

George Fenton
Mr. Fenton is a 1971 graduate of Wesleyan University. He is President of the Fenton Art Glass Company in Williamstown, W.Va. He was formerly the Executive Vice President and Manager of manufacturing at Fenton Art Glass.
Mr. Fenton participated in a Harvard Business School OPM (Owner/President Management) Program. He and his wife, Nancy Gollinger Fenton, live in Williamstown. They have two adult sons.

Barbara A. Perry Fitzgerald, Class of 1973
Ms. Fitzgerald's professional career began as a Management Trainee for Sears, Roebuck and Co. in New Jersey. She spent 24 years with Sears in numerous store operations positions (including Store General Manager and District General Manager), Home Improvement store support positions and strategic planning. Her last assignment was VP/GM for Sears Freestanding Hardware Stores, an off the mall chain she grew to 150 stores in 3 years.
She left Sears in 1997 and joined Toys 'R' Us as VP/GM for NY/NJ, the company's largest market with annual sales of $1 billion. She was promoted to VP of People Development and led the company-wide initiative (This Magic Moment) designed to transform Toys 'R' Us into a customer focused organization.
In early 2000 Barbara was named President of Harmon AutoGlass, then the nation's second largest installer of replacement windshields. She joined PetSmart at the end of that year as Senior VP of Store Operations. In that position she has led the strategic focus on customer service, launching a company-wide service initiative: PetSmart Unleashed. She retired from PetSmart in June 2007.
Ms. Fitzgerald serves on the Boards of Schwan Food Company and PetSmart Charities. Barbara and her husband, Paul, reside in Scottsdale, AZ and Jackson, WY. They are Pet Parents to two adopted basset hounds, Gracie and Boone.

Douglas (Doug) Griebel, Class of 1974
Mr. Griebel is the President-Partner of Rosa Mexicano Hospitality Group, Inc., a company that owns restaurants in New York City, Washington, D.C., Atlanta, and Palm Beach, Florida, Miami, Florida, Riverside, New Jersey, and National Harbor, Maryland. He is a charter member of the MC Athletic Founders Board. Mr. Griebel has served on MAAP, Volunteer Weekend Board/Council, and as a class agent. He is a member of National Restaurant Association and President of New York State Restaurant Association (Manhattan Chapter).
Mr. Griebel is a member and Vice Chairman of the Community Board No. 7, and President of the Columbus Avenue Business Improvement District and member of the Lincoln Center BID, and the Westside YMCA. He and his wife, Sandra Colosimo Griebel, live in New York City with their son, Jack.

Robert (Bob) Hauser, Class of 1971
Mr. Hauser is a former Director of Health Care for Procter & Gamble and founder of OnCall, a Sales/Marketing, Consulting/Outsourcing company. He currently continues consulting work with OnCall with emphasis on organization design and strategies.
Mr. Hauser is involved in several other entrepreneurial ventures including restaurants and residential and commercial real estate. He has also served on the Marietta College Alumni Association Board and was Chair of the Economics/Management/Accounting Department Advisory Board.
He and his wife, Joan ('72), have one daughter, Bethany, a 2007 graduate of West Point and a 2nd Lieutenant in the US Army. Mr. Hauser is former President of the West Point Parents' Club of Greater Cincinnati and continues his charitable work to support West Point graduates, their families and military families, in general.

Nancy Putnam Hollister
Ms. Hollister attended Kent State University and is the former Ohio House Representative from the 93rd District (Washington, Noble, Guernsey, Monroe, and Muskingum counties). Upon the election of Gov. George Voinovich to the U.S. Senate, she became the interim Ohio Governor, in late 1998 and early 1999, becoming the first woman to hold that position.
Mrs. Hollister was formerly Ohio's Lieutenant Governor, Director of the Governor's Office of Appalachia, President of the Ohio Municipal League, Mayor of the City of Marietta and a member of Marietta City Council. She and husband, Jeff Hollister, live in Marietta and have five children.

Daniel (Dan) Jones, Class of 1965
After college Mr. Jones held various sales rep positions with the Hobart Brothers Company, and the Industrial Lift Truck Co. in the Philadelphia area. In 1971, he became the Director of Alumni Affairs for Marietta College and in 1976 was named the Director of Admissions.
After fifteen years at Marietta College, Mr. Jones took the position of Director of Admissions at Maine Maritime Academy where he spent the next 18 years eventually becoming the college's Dean of Students. While at MMA his management responsibilities included admissions, marketing, financial aid, housing, dining services, health/counseling services, bookstore operations, public relations, and summer conferences.
Mr. Jones is currently a Broker for Old Colony Realtors of Marietta. He and his wife, Jane, reside in Marietta, Ohio, and have four children.

John B. Langel, Class of 1970
Mr. Langel earned his J.D. from Temple University in 1974. A partner with Ballard, Spahr Andrews & Ingersoll, LLP, his practice focuses primarily on the representation of employers in a wide variety of labor and employment matters.
Before joining the firm in 1975, he was a law clerk for the Honorable Daniel H. Huyett, III in the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania. Mr. Langel is a member of the Philadelphia Bar association Labor and Employment Law Committee and a past Chairman and a member of the American Bar Association Labor and Employment Section. He is a fellow in The College of Labor and Employment Lawyers.
Mr. Langel currently serves on the Board of Visitors of Temple University James E. Beasley School of Law and is Vice Chair of the Board of Directors of the Delaware Valley Alzheimer's Association. He and his wife, Jacquelyn Pinotti Langel ('70), reside in Moorestown, N.J. They have two children.

Charles Brent (Brent) McCoy
Charles Brent (Brent) McCoy spent 30 years working in the banking industry. He began his career with Texas Commerce Bank in 1973 and has since held various management and executive level positions with Louisiana National Bank, Premier Bank N.A., and Banc One Corporation. McCoy served as President, CEO, and Chairman of the Board for Alliance Bank of Baton Rouge from January 1999 through April 2004. In May of 2004, McCoy moved from the banking industry to Lamar Advertising where he currently serves as Executive Vice President of Business Development.
McCoy is past Chairman of the Louisiana Housing Finance Agency, past President of both Cancer Services of Baton Rouge and Family Counseling. In addition to his business career, McCoy currently serves on several boards including, Pennington Biomedical Research Foundation, Blue Cross Blue Shield of Louisiana, and the Baton Rouge Advisory Board of Iberia Bank.
McCoy graduated from Emory University in 1973 receiving his M.B.A from Stanford University in 1976. He currently resides in Baton Rouge, Louisiana with his wife, Sunny. They have three children: Summer, age 27, Mary Sunny, age 23, and Sara Brent, age 16.

Brent McCurdy, Class of 1968
Mr. McCurdy is a Certified Public Accountant licensed in Ohio, Indiana and South Carolina. He retired in June 2005 as Partner of the Indianapolis office of Ernst & Young LLP where he was responsible for the real estate and construction industry practice for Indiana, Kentucky and Southern Ohio. He began his professional career with Arthur Andersen in Cleveland in 1968, and later became the managing partner of the Columbus, Ohio office of Kenneth Leventhal & Company prior to its merger with Ernst & Young in 1995.
Currently, Mr. McCurdy is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the State CPA Societies of South Carolina, Indiana and Ohio. Previously he served as Treasurer of the American Cancer Society and the Alzheimers Association, United Way, Ohio Hotel and Motel Association, and the Woodland Country Club where he was a member of the Board of Directors and Treasurer.
Mr. McCurdy and his wife, Charlie, are members of the Seacoast Church, Snee Farm Country Club and the East Shore Athletic Club. They reside in Mt. Pleasant, SC and have one adult son.

William (Bill) O'Grady, Jr., Class of 1970
Mr. O'Grady joined the Xerox Corporation as a sales trainee after graduating from MC with a Bachelor of Arts in economics, and remained with the company for 15 years. At the time of his departure, he was responsible for the Northeast Region and its more than 600 associates. In 1985, he began the financial services and investments portion of his career, holding senior positions at CitiGroup, Fidelity Investments, Alliance Capital, and MassMutual Financial Group, where he is currently Senior Vice President of the Corporation and President of the Distribution Company for the Pension and Retirement business.
He and his wife, Pat, live in Boston, Mass. They have two adult children, Megan and Ryan.

J. Roger Porter, Class of 1966
Hailing from Malta, Ohio, a small town about 40 miles northwest of Marietta, Porter graduated from Marietta with a degree in petroleum engineering. Upon his graduation, Porter began working for Continental Oil Company in New Mexico. He later received his MBA from Columbia University and began working with a New Jersey-based company Finetex.
For 35 years as president and CEO, Porter led the once small textile chemical company and propelled it to become an eminent manufacturer of specialty ingredients that are used in the personal care and the pharmaceutical industries. He retired in 2005 after selling Finetex.
Now retired, Porter and his wife, LaRue Scala Porter ’66 divide their time between Bonita Springs, Fla., and West Paterson, N.J. The couple enjoys spending time with their three adult children—Lisa, Julie and Jill—and three grandchildren.

Dr. Leonard M. (Randy) Randolph, Jr. Class of 1965
Dr. Randolph received a Master of Science degree from Howard University in 1967, and his medical degree from Meharry Medical College in 1972. He is the Senior Vice President and Chief Medical Officer at Mercy Health Partners in Cincinnati, Ohio. He is the lead physician for a five-hospital system, which includes four long-term care facilities, three health plexes and a number of free-standing clinics. In addition, he is responsible for the safety of patients and the quality of health care delivered.
Dr. Randolph is the former Vice President of Medical Operations for Catholic Healthcare West, where he is responsible for the quality and practice of health services for 21 hospitals in the Southern California and Arizona region of the second largest integrated health delivery system in the State of California.
Dr. Randolph is the past President of American College of Physician Executives and a distinguished Fellow of the College. He is a past member of the Board of Governors of American College of Surgeons and Fellow of the College.
Dr. Randolph is the past Deputy Executive Director and Program Executive Officer for TRICARE Management Activity, Office of the Undersecretary of Defense for Personnel and Readiness, Washington, D.C. Dr. Randolph is also the past Deputy Surgeon General of the U.S. Air Force. He and his wife, Linda Fleming Randolph, live in Mason, Ohio, and have four adult children, one son still at home, and seven grandchildren.

Cynthia (Cindy) Reece, Class of 1978
Ms. Reece is the Global IT Technical Computing Manager for ExxonMobil’s Upstream Companies where she has responsibility for the technical work environment supporting more than 6,000 technical professionals in more than 24 countries. She has spent the last 29+ years with Exxon, now ExxonMobil, in a variety of assignments (both production and drilling as well as engineering and operations). She has degrees in both petroleum engineering and business and is a licensed professional engineer in Texas.
Ms. Reece is active in both industry technical societies and in the community. She and her husband, Eric Powell, reside in Texas, enjoy traveling throughout the world and are decorating a “starter” retirement home in Arizona.

Donald (Don) Ritter, Class of 1981
Mr. Ritter received his M.B.A. from Southern Methodist University in 2001. He is the Vice President of Engineering Services for GeoMechanics International, which offers a wide range of geomechanical, petrophysical, and wellbore imaging services to clients in the oil and gas, geothermal, environmental, and geotechnical industries.
Mr. Ritter formerly served as Joint Venture Well Construction Manager for Mobil's New Exploration and Producing Ventures worldwide. He lives in Farmers Branch, Texas, with his wife, Leslie Straub Ritter, Class of 1985, and two children.

David Rosenbloom, Class of 1964
Mr. Rosenbloom earned his Ph.D. from the University of Chicago in 1969, and received an Honorary Doctor of Laws degree from Marietta College in 1994. He was the Distinguished Professor of Public Administration in the School of Public Affairs at American University in Washington, D.C.
Mr. Rosenbloom taught at Syracuse University's Maxwell School of Citizenship and Public Affairs, where he was named the first Distinguished Professor in the school's history. He also taught at the University of Vermont, Tel Aviv University, and the University of Kansas. He was an American Society for Public Administration Fellow in the Office of Federal Equal Employment Opportunity at the U.S. Civil Service Commission.
He has continuing formal faculty status as a Guest Professor at People's (Renmin) University in Beijing and at Northwest University (Xibei Da Xue) in Xi'an, PRC. Mr. Rosenbloom writes extensively about public administration and democratic constitutionalism. He currently serves on the editorial boards of approximately one dozen leading public administration journals. He and his wife, Deborah, reside in Bethesda, Md., and have three daughters and one son.

Charlene Samples, Class of 1977
Ms. Samples is currently self-employed as a Marketing Consultant, assisting clients with product development and launches, consumer marketing support plans, and brand building. Formerly Vice President of Brand Marketing at Jarden Home Brands (Ball jars, Diamond matches and plastic cutlery) in Daleville, Indiana, Samples also worked for the Keebler Company (with the elves!) in varying Marketing roles for 16 years in suburban Chicago. A member of the Phi Beta Kappa and Omicron Delta Kappa, she resides with Don West, Marietta College 2001, in Fishers, Indiana.

Frank Schossler, Class of 1986
Mr. Schossler is a Certified Public Accountant with over twenty years of experience. Currently he serves as the Chief Financial Officer for Installed Building Products. He has provided financial management for various companies including Basic Plastics, Ltd., O-Cedar Brands Inc., and Worthington Food Inc. Schossler began his career with the accounting firm of Ernst & Young LLP, and is a current member of the Ohio Society of Certified Public Accountants.
Schossler received his bachelor degrees in Accounting and Management from Marietta College in 1986. In 1992 he obtained his MBA from The Ohio State University.
He was a four year member of Marietta College's baseball team including the 1986 National Championship team. Schossler was named All OAC, All Academic OAC, and All Mideast Region. He and his wife Amy, reside in Hilliard, OH with their two children, AJ and Emma.

Jean Scott
Ms. Scott graduated from Westhampton College, University of Richmond in 1968, where she was elected to Phi Beta Kappa. She earned a Master of Arts from Harvard University in 1969 and a Ph.D. from Harvard in 1974.
Ms. Scott has been President of Marietta College since July 2000. She was formerly the President of Bradford College in Massachusetts, and served as interim President and Vice President for Enrollment and Student Services at the State University of New York (SUNY) College at Potsdam.
Ms. Scott was also the Associate Provost for Academic Administration and the Dean of Undergraduate Admission at The College of William and Mary in Virginia, and Dean of Undergraduate Admission at Case Western Reserve University in Cleveland. She was a Director of Undergraduate Admission, Lecturer and Assistant Professor of History at Duke University in Durham, NC.

David (Dave) Smart, Class of 1951
Mr. Smart earned a Master of Arts degree from Vanderbilt University in1953. He retired as Vice President and Director of Food Enterprises Division of Ralston Purina Co. He has served as the board director of a few not-for-profit organizations.
Mr. Smart is the Chairman of the Board of Archway Communities and the St. Louis Lighthouse for the Blind. He volunteers with SCORE, OASIS, United Way and International Executive Service Corps. He is also an overseas volunteer business consultant.
Mr. Smart is active in local politics. He is a member of Omicron Delta Kappa, Phi Alpha Theta, Pi Delta Epsilon, Phi Theta Kappa and Alpha Tau Omega. He and his wife, Susan, reside in Chesterfield, Mo., and have four adult children and four grandchildren.

Donald (Don) Strickland, Class of 1966
Mr. Strickland earned his Juris Doctorate in 1969 from the University of Connecticut Law School. He has been an Attorney at Law and Partner at Siegel, O’Connor, O’Donnell & Beck, P.C. in Hartford, Conn., since 1973. Mr. Strickland's practice includes labor, employment law, contract negotiations and administration, employee discipline and termination matters, and both grievance and interest arbitration.
Mr. Strickland concentrates in representation of boards of education and municipalities and other public sector entities in labor relations matters, school law, student discipline, prohibited practice matters municipal law, and constitutional law issues as they relate to public employees and employers. He also conducts investigations on behalf of clients into allegations of misconduct with potential labor relations and disciplinary ramifications.
Mr. Strickland is a member of the American Bar Association, Connecticut Bar Association, founding member and past chair of the Connecticut School Attorney’s Council, Adjunct Professor at Sacred Heart University School of Graduate Studies and a member of the Society of Former Special Agents, Federal Bureau of Investigations. He is an author and lecturer. He serves on the Board of Directors for A Better Chance (ABC), Inc. as well as numerous other boards.
Mr. Strickland and his wife, Elise, reside in Glastonbury, CT, and have three adult children and two grandchildren.

Dale Wartluft, Class of 1963
Mr. Warluft’s career included 20 years with IBM, 13 years at Ernst & Young LLP, and 2 years with Capgemini Ernst & Young Consulting. At IBM, he held numerous technical consulting, sales and marketing, and executive management positions. At Ernst & Young and Capgemini Ernst & Young Consulting, he held numerous executive management positions, and retired in 2001 after serving as CEO of the Americas. After retiring, he served four years on the Board of Directors for Intellinex, a web-based education content and service company. Mr. Wartluft has been heavily involved in charity work and is currently a member of the Board of Governors at his country club where is actively involved in golf and tennis.
Mr. Warluft and his wife, Judy, live in Atlanta, Georgia, as do their two daughters and four grandchildren.

Kean Weaver, Class of 1984
Mr. Weaver is President/CEO of Triad Resources, Inc. and affiliated companies involved in the exploration and development of oil and natural gas in the Appalachian Region. He is a trustee to the Ohio Oil & Gas Association and previously served on the board of the Greater Marietta United Way as both the President and Campaign Chairman.
He received Marietta College’s Outstanding Young Alumni Award in 1994 and later served a term on the MC Board of Trustees as an Alumni Trustee. He is currently a member of the MC Athletic Hall of Fame Committee and a Charter Member of the MC Leadership Program Advisory Board.
He resides in Reno, Ohio, and has three children, Caroline, Evan and Annie.

Patricia (Pat) Willis, Class of 1970
Ms. Willis has completed graduate work at Georgia State University. She is currently the Board of Trustees chair. She is the Executive Director of Voices for Georgia's Children, a statewide advocacy organization for research, communications and policy related to children and families. She is the former Senior Director of Community Affairs for BellSouth Corp., where she was responsible for corporate strategy and implementation for programs in education and women's issues.
Ms. Willis served as President of the BellSouth Foundation, an endowed trust devoted to improving education in the communities BellSouth serves. She was a member of the board of The Foundation Center, the Atlanta Women's Foundation, the Center for Leadership in School Reform and the Georgia Partnership for Excellence in Education.
Ms. Willis served as Vice Chairman of the Independent Sector and was on the board of the Council of Independent Colleges. She was appointed by the Georgia governor to chair the State's Council for School Performance from 1993 to 2000. She and her husband, Charles, reside in Atlanta. They have one adult son.
