Theatre Department position
Marietta College seeks to fill a one-year, full-time faculty position in Theatre. Embracing the liberal arts philosophy of teaching and learning, Marietta College encourages candidates interested in teaching and creating theatre in a collaborative atmosphere. Position responsibilities include teaching courses in acting and directing, and serving as advisor to student-directed productions.
Qualifications required: MFA in acting or directing, or Ph.D. with significant acting and directing experience and College-level teaching experience.
Professional production experience is highly desired.

Full-time Visiting ESL Instructor
The ESL Program at Marietta College invites applications for a one-year ESL instructor, to begin August 1, 2009. The successful candidate will teach four courses per semester, including one or two sections of an upper intermediate level academic reading and writing course for ESL students and a remedial vocabulary and grammar course for ESL students. Depending on student need and candidate qualifications, the successful candidate may also teach one or more of the following: an early arrivals program for international students, an upper intermediate level academic speaking and listening course for ESL students, or the required freshman writing class taken by all students at the college.
The successful candidate must have an M.A. in TESOL or Applied Linguistics, experience teaching academic writing to ESL/EFL students, solid knowledge of pedagogical grammar for ESL students, native-speaker or near-native-speaker competence in English, and the ability to work closely in a team in multi-section courses. Experience abroad, especially in China or the Arab world, and an ability to teach general freshman composition are desirable.

Director of Multicultural Affairs
The Division of Student Life is accepting nominations and applications for a Director of Multicultural Affairs.
Reporting directly to the Vice President for Student Life/Dean of Students, the Director will have primary responsibility for serving as the primary contact for American Minority students; educating the campus on matters of diversity; coordinating programs that honor the culture and heritage of various ethnic groups; advising the Charles Sumner Harrison student organization and budget oversight for the Office of Multicultural Affairs. The Director will also support the Admission Office in the recruitments of American Minority students as well as the programming efforts of the International Student Office.
The ideal candidate must be an enthusiastic, self-starting, creative, high energy person who enjoys working with other professionals who are committed to making a difference in the lives of students. Bachelors degree required, Masters Degree in College Student Personnel, Higher Education or other related field preferred; prior experience highly desirable, but not required; understanding of student development and minority development theory; excellent interpersonal skills.
This is a full-time, 10 month position. Salary commensurate with education and experience, full benefits plus an on campus apartment and meal plan. Anticipated starting date of August 1, 2009 or soon thereafter.

Assistant Director, Student Activities and Greek Life
The Division of Student Life is accepting nominations and applications for an Assistant Director, Student Activities & Greek Life.
Reporting to the Director of Student Activities & Greek Life, the Assistant will be responsible for the overall development, management and oversight of a comprehensive Greek Life program comprised of six national sororities and fraternities (three each). Student Activities and Greek Life at Marietta College are built on sound student development theory and are consistent with the mission of the Division which promotes learning and success while advancing the overall mission of the college.
The primary responsibility of this position is to provide leadership to the Greek community by developing and implementing programs and activities that strengthen and enhance Greek Life at the college. This includes serving as advisor to the Interfraternity Council, Panhellenic Council and Greek Council and liaison to the Office of Residence Life. The Assistant Director will also provide academic support, counseling and educational programming for all Greek Letter organizations. In addition to Greek Life responsibilities the Assistant will also serve as the Director of New Student Orientation. The Assistant Director will also assist with campus-wide programming efforts.
The position requires a Bachelors degree while a Masters degree in College Student Personnel, Higher Education Administration or related field is preferred. Prior Greek life experience (member of a Greek Letter organization, chapter consultant etc.) is strongly preferred. Must possess well developed communication/interpersonal, organization, planning and programming skills.

Director, Marietta Fund
Marietta College seeks a motivated and experienced professional for the position of Director, Marietta Fund. This position is responsible for the success of the annual giving program and reports to the Assistant Vice President. The Director will be responsible for the development and implementation of a comprehensive plan for the growth of annual support, in conjunction with the execution of a direct mail solicitation schedule for the College’s multiple constituencies. The College is currently in the final phase of a comprehensive campaign. As a key member of the campaign team, the Director will personally cultivate and solicit gifts in support of the Marietta Fund as well as other College priorities. Additional responsibilities include the oversight of phonathon and class gift reunion giving as well as supervision of the Assistant Director of the Marietta Fund.
Candidates must have a Bachelors degree and five years of progressive fundraising experience, preferably in annual giving within a higher education setting. Demonstrated high standards of integrity, excellent interpersonal and written/verbal communication skills are essential. A successful candidate must be results driven, focused on quality, team-oriented and able to manage multiple priorities. This individual must also be willing to travel.
