The international economic decline that has intensified over the past few weeks has caused concern for individuals and institutions alike. Marietta College is not immune to the effects of the market downturn, and we are approaching the next few months with an attitude of both confidence and caution. For the second time in two years, the Council for Advancement and Support of Education has recognized Marietta College’s Office of Alumni Relations as one of the best in District V.
The College won a Gold Award in "Best New Alumni Program" for Golden Pioneers Reunion Weekend in the Pride of CASE V Awards Program. Hub Burton, Associate Vice President for Alumni and College Relations; Ann Foraker, Assistant Director of Alumni Events and Services; and Cheryl Canaday, Office Coordinator; were all named on the award.
Marietta’s program edged out the University of Wisconsin Alumni Association and Bowling Green State University for the top honor.
The Marietta College Alumni Association's 2008 Hall of Honor class will be inducted during a special ceremony that begins at 5 p.m. Friday, Oct. 24, in the Alma McDonough Auditorium. The ceremony is part of the College’s Homecoming 2008 celebration. This year’s class includes Ann Waldhorst Muscari (Class of 1951), Douglas La Follette (Class of 1963) and Robert J. Blendon (Class of 1964).

Timothy Maddox ‘86 represented the Marietta College Alumni Association by welcoming the Class of 2012 at the annual Matriculation Ceremony conducted on Aug. 21 in the Dyson Baudo Recreation Center. More than 400 students participated in the special ceremony.
